The Trex Hideaway® Hidden Fastening Clip System installs between the deck boards, fastening them to the joists with no visible deck screw heads on the walking surface. This precision also creates perfectly consistent spacing between the boards for a flawless look across the entire deck. This system includes a few simple components:
- The Universal Fastener – This self-gapping hardware is the main fastener component that attaches two boards together. It features a stainless steel deck screw already set in the fastener for increased durability and easier installation.
- The Start Clip & Butt Joint Clip – Black, stainless steel fasteners designed exclusively for Trex and used to install joints/seams and perimeter deck boards.
- Trex Router Bit (Groove Cutter) – Traditional square edge boards require traditional deck screws for installation; Using a Trex groove cutter routes the necessary underside groove into any traditional board to accommodate the hidden deck fastening system.
Designed specifically for Trex decking and fascia, Trex Hideaway Plugs and Screws offer an alternative to the hidden fastening system with epoxy coated screws and composite plugs that visually blend into the decking and fascia boards.
- Color Match Epoxy Deck and Fascia screws – Engineered to work seamlessly with all Trex decking and fascia collections, these screws drive without fear of mushrooming or color stripping.
- Collated Plug Based Screws and Plugs – Trex collated plugs are meticulously crafted from Trex composite materials, matching in color and grain to all Trex decking and fascia lines. Plug Based Screws and Plugs for Enhance Composite decking and fascia line are available and made specifically for the scalloped-back Enhance boards.
- Phillips HEXSTIX® Drive bits, Trex Counterbore and Drive Tool Kits, and Trex Depth Setters assist builders with precision accuracy during installation.
